I have been engaging in my life long vocation in public schools for nearly 34 years; both as a teacher and administrator. But my passion lies in all types of gardening. I have loved digging in the soil since I was little, but only really became addicted to gardening in the last 30 years. I would say I am a self-taught gardener who has never taken any formal classes, and learns through reading and trial and error.
I have many types of gardens from vegetable gardens to rain gardens, xeric, shady, a meadow we created from seed and a pond we had constructed. In the past few years, I have been redoing my gardens to include native plants to create a wildlife habitat.
My journey through life has been enriched and influenced by my gardening experiences. I love to write about those experiences on my other blog, Gardens Eye View.
My passion for writing was recently rekindled about 3 years ago. In addition to my blogs, I have been writing short story memoirs and poetry some of which have been published.
I retired from public education in February 2014, to grow my fledgling garden design business and expand my writing projects and in the future publish a few books.
